BEHIND THE WORK
COSTUME DESIGNER + SUPERVISOR + STYLIST
For as long as Chelsea can remember, her life has revolved around clothing. Growing up in Denver, Colorado, she spent weekends searching garage sales and bargain bins for hidden treasures, discovering how clothing could express identity and tell a story. The challenge of creating distinctive looks on a budget sparked a lifelong passion for style, character, and storytelling through costume.
After attending the University of Hawaii, Chelsea moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at FIDM, determined to turn that passion into a career. Her journey into the industry began with a chance encounter during Los Angeles Fashion Week in 2008, when a conversation with a stylist led to an internship on a television series—and her first big break. That opportunity became the foundation for years of hands-on experience across film, television, commercials, live events, and touring.
Over the course of her 18-year career, Chelsea has contributed to productions ranging from Marvel and DC superhero films to acclaimed television series, including projects with Ryan Murphy. Her work on the Super Bowl Halftime Show opened the door to some of the largest live productions in the world, allowing her to bring cinematic storytelling to global stages.
Whether designing or supervising costumes for scripted entertainment, live performances, or large-scale events, Chelsea is drawn to the collaborative nature of the creative process. She believes great costume work is about more than clothing; it is about revealing character, supporting the story, and helping bring a creative vision to life. Collaborating with artists, directors, producers, performers, and craftspeople continues to inspire her and fuel her passion for creating memorable visual worlds.
